THE PETIT VERDOT GRAPE VARIETY

The Petit Verdot grape variety has found its place at our Estate Dehesa de Fuentes de Duero, thanks to our constant and very dedicated job in the vineyard and in winery. We have achieved great results with this special and unique variety in the Duero River Basin.

We elaborate all of our red wines with at least 50% of Petit Verdot and also a monovarietal rosé. This grape gives structure, color intensity and blackberry and plum aromas. Its also good for an equilibrated acidity and sweet tannins. It comes from France and it means “little green” due to its late maturity and it is present at Bordeaux area, where it is only used in a 10% to give wines a touch of aroma, color, tannicity and acidity.
